Settings - Video Devices
The Device Settings page allows you to configure a device directly from Poly Lens.
Devices Supported

For your convenience, we have provided links to all the devices supported by Poly Lens, to assist you in the configuration and operation of these devices. See Device Documentation.
Note: In Poly Lens Device Settings and Policy Settings cover a similar set of provisioning options. To provision a group of devices see Policy - Video Devices.
- Device Settings are applied to one device
- Policy Settings are applied to a group of devices (one model type)
Edit Device Settings
To edit the device settings of a registered device. For detailed information on the Device Settings, see the device documentation listed on Device Documentation.
- Go to Manage > Inventory.
- Select a room video device from the Device List.
- Select the Settings side tab. Note: The Settings option is not available until Device Provisioning is enabled. See Enable Device Provisioning on an Account.
- Select a Filter Settings on the side tab, and modify as needed.
- Click Apply.
Note: ToolTips (question mark icon) have been provided on fields to assist you with setting the parameters.
The list of Settings displayed is modified based on the provisioning status of the device.

Settings Options Displayed for a Device that has not been Provisioned
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Filter settings | This feature allows you to enter search parameters, resulting in displaying only the Settings that contain those parameters. For example: Enter "date". All sections that include date settings will display in the sidebar. |
My Settings | With this feature you can view and manage all the changes that have made to this device. See My Settings. |
Display | Configures your system video output for single- or dual-monitor setup. |
Date and Time | Sets the date and time format for the device. |
Calendar | The calendaring service must be configured so users can see scheduled meetings on the local interface. |
Call Servers | SIP - Enables the system to make and receive SIP calls. H.323 - Enables the system to display H.323 settings and configuration options. |
Network Quality | Configure the device network settings to work best for your environment. |
Advanced | This option is for advanced users only. See the following section for details. See Advanced Device Settings below. |
Software Update | Allows you to check the current version, and update the device software, if needed. |
Settings Options Displayed for a Provisioned Device (displaying a Provision Icon)

Call Configuration | Allows you to configure the Global Settings parameters. |
Servers * | Allows you to configure the Calendaring, and Skype for Business parameters. |
Security * | Allows you to configure the Certificates, SCEP, Security Banner, and Local Accounts (passwords) parameters. |
Audio/Video * | Allows you to configure the Content and Audio parameters. |
Network | Allows you to configure the Wi-Fi, Network Options, QoS, Primary Network, Web Proxy, and DNS parameters. |
Content | Allows you to set the content that displays for Security, Miracast and AirPlay. |
General Settings * | Allows you to configure the Date and Time, USB, System Settings, Power Savings, Customization, Bluetooth, System, Account Credentials, Power Management, Device Management, and Language parameters. |
Diagnostics * | Allows you to configure the Syslog and System Log Settings parameters. |
Software Update * | Manage the software settings for the Device. |

Advanced Device Settings
The advanced device settings provides an XML editer window, to make configuration changes directly to the current settings on the device.

- Go to Manage > Inventory.
- Select a device from the Device List.
- Select Settings > Advanced on the side tab. Note: The Settings option is not available until Device Provisioning is enabled. See Enable Device Provisioning on an Account.
- The XML editor window displays the current configuration on the device. Modify as needed.
- Click Apply.
Note: If an error occurs from the changes made, an error message will be displayed above. Once the error(s) have been cleared, click Apply again.
Software Update
The Software Update feature in a Device allows you to manage the software level on a device.
- Go to Manage > Inventory.
- Select a device from the Device List.
- Select the Software Update tab.
- Select your software options:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Auto-update with Latest Version | This option will update the software when a new version is released. The latest version that is applied will be displayed. Note When this option is enabled the Download Source* and Select Version for Update** will no longer display. |
Download Source | Poly Lens: This option enables the download the device software from the Poly Lens server. Then select the software version from the Select Version for Update drop-down list. Customer Server: will download the device software from a custom server that you define in the Update Server Address field below. |
Check for an Update Every (seconds) | This option sets the time interval your system checks for a new software version available. Note: This option only applies when using the Auto-update mode. |
Update Window | This option sets a maintenance window time that you would like the update to be implemented. Note: This option only applies when using the Auto-update mode. |
- Click Apply.
Note: You can modify the device, however you cannot apply the device settings until Device Provisioning is enabled. See Enable Device Provisioning on an Account. Once enabled, the device settings will be applied during the next polling cycle.
Inheritance
To the right of each Settings field an Inheritance status is listed.
Model Policy – Indicates this field has been configured by model (Manage > Policy)
Group Policy – Indicates this field has been configured by group (Manage > Device Group)
Device Policy – Indicates this field has been configured by device (Manage > Inventory)
Blank – Indicates this field is at the device default setting
