Has anyone been able to perform an *authenticated* vulnerability scan of a CCX phone that is in Teams mode?   Teams mode doesn't seem to allow the SSH server to be enabled, unless I am missing something.   I would like to do an authenticated scan to examine for vulnerabilities in the operating system and installed software.  Similar to an authenticated scan of a Windows workstation or a Linux server.  Any suggestions on how to do this on a CCX phone are appreciated.   -Fred

3cx recently rolled out their version 18 update 6 which among other things has disabled the call button on the side of the headset. Calls can only be answered by on-screen action. Many users have reported issues but 3cx insists its a hardware issue/poly Hub problem and not on their end. Jabra and Poly integration is no longer an option but Universal Headset is the lone choice. Not sure what to do at this point.

I have an organization asking me to prevent their end users from being able to forward their calls at the device level. So they are asking me to remove the ability for them to set Call Forwarding completely. Any suggestions?   They are using Polycom VVX450 phone.    The reason they want to do this is because they have employees who will forward their phone and then forget. And then wonder why they don't get calls for 2 weeks. To avoid the end user from being able to do this by accident, they want to prevent the ability for it to happen at all. (at the phone level).   Thank you in advance.

At my place of work we have the encorepro 510 headsets. We also have the quick disconnects that go to a radio like wireless handset where we talk to security officers through radio. I'm looking for a better option that has more noise canceling in the headset since I can't hear dispatches when people in the office talk behind me. Is there a better headset that covers just one ear that has the weird quick disconnect option?

I need help. I purchased a refurbished Polycom Soundpoint IP 331, but have not received any instruction manuals. I haven't registered a voip number yet, and before paying to have a voip number, I would like to know if it's normal when I connect the phone to the pc to enter the phone configuration page, the page opens and at the page top, I can read "Polycom Soundpoint IP 331and I can see on the left the window languages, but below the page is totally empty, so I don't have any possibility to enter data to set the phone. Is it possible I have incorrectly connected the phone? Or will this problem be solved as soon as I will have  set the router activating the voip service from the provider? In attached below the empty config page.  Thank in advance for the help.

I have the Voyager 4310 UV mono, when a call comes in on my computer (VoIPcloud) I have to physically be at the computer to use the mouse and answer it. If I'm not present (90% of the time), I can't seem to answer it from the headset. Pressing the middle/call button opens MS Teams but does not answer the call.  Is there a way to have this function?

Poly | HP meeting room devices become an integral part of your Smart Building WHAT ARE SMART BUILDINGS? Smart Buildings communicate with internal systems, devices, and sensors such as HVAC, lighting, alarms, cameras, etc. to self-regulate building operations, minimize environmental impact while making it safer and more comfortable for occupants. Powered by Internet of Things (IoT) 1   and Power over Ethernet (PoE) 2   et al, smart buildings are poised to play an ever-increasing role in helping businesses manage the return to office and achieve sustainability compliance goals. Some interesting examples 3   of what Smart Buildings can do: Use people counting sensors to automatically turn off lighting, turn off air-conditioning, and trigger an autonomous disinfection process as soon as meeting rooms are vacated. Turn on the building tenant’s allocated space lighting systems as soon as tenant swipes their access card at building entrance. Increase ventilation as occupancy increases.   THE POLY | HP & NEOWIT ADVANTAGE While smart buildings hold a lot of promise, without a single cohesive view of the data from the innumerable devices and sensors in a building, it is difficult for businesses to optimize space utilization, reduce carbon footprint and overall make smarter business decisions. Further, people-counting and air quality sensors can cost anywhere from $1000 to $3000 USD. Poly | HP Studio X Series devices come with sensors built-in which directly translates to cost savings. That’s why Poly | HP has partnered with Neowit – a leader in Smart Building technology. Neowit’s flagship product, the   Neowit Platform , is a modern and scalable IoT, facility management and workplace portal that provides comprehensive visibility into your office space and assets, by aggregating data from various IoT sensors & devices into a single pane of glass. POWERED BY THE POLY LENS MANAGEMENT & INSIGHTS API The publicly available Poly Lens Management and Insight API supports all features in the Poly Lens admin portal and enables you to easily plug data from a tenant into third-party platforms such as Neowit. You can use this feature to optimize your workflows, build custom applications or extract the data from Poly Lens in a way that works for your organization. SMART BUILDINGS   ARE THE   FUTURE With environmental impact, financial and operational considerations, Smart Buildings are clearly an area of global interest. Making the best use of real estate through insights and analytics provided by partnerships such as the one between Poly | HP and Neowit which will undoubtedly deliver a better bottom line for business. Here’s a quick   intro video   about Neowit.   FOOTNOTES: The Internet of Things (lot) describes the network of physical objects — “things” that are embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with other devices and systems over the internet. These devices range from ordinary household objects to sophisticated industrial tools. Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology for implementing wired Ethernet local area networks (LANs) that enables the electrical current necessary for operating each device to be carried by Ethernet data cables instead of standard electrical power cords and wiring. The Mobile Contacts Directory is always visible. There is no configuration to enable this feature   If a mobile device is not connected, Edge E will direct you to the Bluetooth settings   Not all mobile phones automatically prompt their user to allow contact permissions   Sync time is variable and depends on the size of your contact book and the phone model.   Real-time search using the dial pad. The Search bar is shown at the top of the screen.   Edge E can connect to only 1 device at a time.Bluetooth headset users: mobile phone contacts and calls will not be available     Mobile Phone Contact Book - Privacy   When the sync occurs, your contacts are saved to the Edge E phone. This feature staggers notifications on a shared line used as a backup for taking calls. The phone delays visual and audible notifications for the call until the delay timer elapses.   Ring Delay means: After the phone has received a call, do not use LEDs, icons, or tones, until…the delay timer has elapsed Use the following parameter to configure this setting:     reg.x.ringdelay="<time in seconds>"     Applies to: CCX Series Edge E Series Trio 8300, Trio C60 Device Prioritized Contact Directory Management   Poly Voice Software has historically prioritized the contact directory file stored and retrieved from the server when creating the contact directory that displays on the phone. In this release, the phone now manages contacts locally without uploading them for storage, while the server still pushes contact information to the phone. The new Device Prioritized mode enables the local user changes to override the contact data the phone receives from the server. The phone stores local contact directory on the phone and doesn’t upload it to the server. Merges/duplicate recognition is based on the contact number Editing a contact from the cloud directory saves it as a duplicate device copy Deleting a cloud managed contact will see it return on next update/reboot Local contacts are not uploaded. There is no export available. Deleting a cloud managed contact that exists in the MAC-directory.xml or the 000000000000-directory.xml will still return on next update/reboot.       Use the following parameter to configure this setting:     dir.local.mode="devicePrioritized"     You can still clear the directory for privacy needs or reset a phone via remote management by sending any value in a config file. Use the following parameter to configure this setting:     dir.local.devicePrioritized.deleteDirectory="<any value>"       This new contact management method means there is personal data on the phone that is no longer controllable remotely. Managing a device often requires purging sensitive data and there are several ways to delete the local device contacts. Factory Reset Menu > Settings > Basic > Clear Calls/Directory Return to the default  dir.local.mode="serverPrioritized" *Change* the value of dir.local.devicePrioritized.deleteDirectory to any new value (we recommend using a timestamp) Applies to: CCX Series Edge E Series Trio 8300 Trio C60 Edge E Series Help and Support Videos   The support videos available via QR code from Edge E phones in Menu > Help & Support > Help are now model specific.   An updated how-to series of videos is available from Poly Each Edge E model now uses a model-specific URL Partners may choose to use their own web resources for this QR code using:   ui.menu.helpAndSupport.contact.help.QrCode_URL ui.menu.helpAndSupport.contact.help.QrCode_Title ui.menu.helpAndSupport.contact.help.QrCode_Description   Applies to: Edge E Series Remove the Applications Button   You can now remove the Applications button from the main menu on CCX Series and Trio C60 phones. Use the following parameter to configure this setting:     homeScreen.application.enable="0"         Applies to: CCX Series Trio C60 CCX/C60 Line View Management Improvement A small UI improvement to facilitate more intuitive navigation. When pressing the   Home   button, or when a call interrupts your on screen navigation, the phone is now state aware and will use appropriate wording on notifications and banners to help guide your actions         Zoom Phone Appliance Base Profile for CCX 505   CCX 505 now offers the Zoom Phone Appliance (ZPA) base profile and is certified for use with Zoom communications.     Applies to: CCX 505 Dialpad Base Profile for CCX 500 and CCX 505   The Dialpad base profile provides the full Dialpad experience and runs the Dialpad application for cloud communications.   For more information, see the Dialpad corporate website. Applies to: CCX 500 CCX 505 Bluetooth Improvements   This release includes several improvements to Bluetooth on Edge E Series phones. The Bluetooth connection is now faster   Prior Software Associated Configuration:   bluetooth.discoverableTimeout bluetooth.device.discoverable   Users don’t need to manually select Connect after pairing. Pairing a new device when a device is already connected disconnects the previous device (but leaves it paired) and connects the new device. Bluetooth discoverability of Edge E Series phones is now only available in the Bluetooth settings menu.     Applies to: Edge E220 Edge E320 Edge E350 Edge E450 Edge E550 Enhancements to Text-to-Speech   You can now enable Text-to-Speech (TTS) output for incoming caller ID information and the phone’s physical keys. Applies to: Edge E Series Poly Lens Connection Reliability   This release contains a fix to ensure a more stable connection between your system and Poly Lens. Applies to: CCX Series Edge E Series Trio C60 USB Optimized Base Profile Deprecated for CCX 600 and CCX 700   The USB Optimized base profile for CCX 600 and CCX 700 is deprecated starting in this release. This base profile remains supported on Trio C60 and other CCX models (CCX 350, CCX 400, CCX 500, and CCX 505). Applies to: CCX Series Edge E Series Trio 8300 Trio C60 Zoom Rooms Controller   Poly Trio C60 phones optimized for Zoom Rooms act as a controller via the system’s touch user interface and provide audio for Zoom Room meetings through the built-in speakers and microphones. This software release contains the Zoom Rooms Controller version 5.12 (1540) as embedded software. For more information on this Zoom release, see the   Zoom Help Center. For the latest setup instructions, see the Integrating Poly Trio Systems with Zoom Rooms Solution Guide at   Poly Solutions for Zoom Environments.   Microsoft Teams   The Microsoft Teams application is included in each PVOS release for use on CCX 400, CCX 500, CCX 505, CCX 600, and Trio C60 phones. The Teams version included may be updated independently of the PVOS version using the Teams Admin Center. For more information on this Teams version, see What’s new in Microsoft Teams. This base profile remains supported on Trio C60 and other CCX models (CCX 350, CCX 400, CCX 500, and CCX 505). CCX 600 and CCX 700 phones configured for the USB Optimized base profile remain in USB-optimized mode, but it is no longer supported and may be removed completely in later software releases. Applies to: CCX 600 CCX 700   Security Improvements on the System Web Interface   The system web interface has improved protection against injection attacks or permission level bypasses. Tools like Ping and Traceroute are now moved from user access to administrator access. System web interface sessions now clear if the phone detects its network link has cycled. IMPORTANT: PVOS includes the Microsoft Teams base profile in every release; however, Microsoft support of a release depends on the PVOS version delivered by Microsoft through the Teams Admin Center.   Microsoft Component Version Microsoft Teams 1449/1.0.94.2022110803 Microsoft Admin Agent 1.0.0. 202209060820.product (v382) Microsoft Intune Company Portal 5.0.5484.0   Release History   Release Release Date Features 8.1.0 Feb-23 Maintenance release for Poly Voice Software. I have a Voyager Focus 2 Office base and somehow misplaced the power supply. What power supply do I need, where can I buy it or is there a generic one that will work? I can't seem to find the specs for the power supply anywhere. I will most likely not be using this (at least not initially) with a desk phone - just for connectivity with teams.   Thanks

Hi I got this headset as a replacement for my old plantronics headset. I was told at the purchase point that I would be able to adjust sidetone through the Plantronics Hub.  When I select ringtone/volume, I don't have any sidetone options. This headset is useless to me without a sidetone.   Please advise. Also, very upset with respect to how difficult it is to get any help with this.
