To start off our Flash Back Friday series, we wanted to figure out what specific games made our team the true gamers they are today. For one of our marketing managers, it was Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation that made him a real gamer. Metal Gear Solid came out in 1998, 17 years ago, and is still being talked about today (like right now!). Since its release, MGS sold over six million copies and has been recognized as one of the most important games of all time.

Metal Gear Solid wasn’t a game just about shooting things and running from one point to another. It was a story that created an intricate and complex narrative with its developed stealth gameplay that made the shooter and stealth genre what it is now. The textures, lighting, soundtrack, and characters were all beyond their time help make this game so memorable.

Metal Gear Solid is still one of the most talked about games and really pushed the boundaries of the shooter genre at the time. Time to pull out your original PlayStation and dust off your version of Metal Gear Solid and give it a go. Never too late to play!
