The Poly Edge E phone family continues to grow its network of certified Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) platforms. RingCentral, Vonage, Lumen, C-Spire, RevenueWell, and New Horizon Communications have completed their certification and testing of the Poly Edge E phones. Customers on these service provider platforms will be able to use Poly Edge E phones for their UCaaS deployments.

The Poly Edge E phones have been rapidly certified and adopted by several UCaaS platforms since their introduction in August. “We’re thrilled by the response to the Poly Edge E phones from our service provider partners,” said Steven Fair, Sr. Director, Global Voice & Service Provider Platform Sales at Poly. “With the move to hybrid workforces, more companies seek solutions which meet the needs of their employee personas, whether they are in-office, remote and hybrid. Our partners recognize that, which is why we’re seeing such movement toward adding the Poly Edge E series to their lineup.”

The Poly Edge E series is thoughtfully designed to meet the challenges of a hybrid workforce. Built for hot-desking or the home office, these phones offer more ways to connect, like simple mobile phone pairing and fast headset pairing. Poly’s famous noise reduction technology, Microban® antimicrobial product protection, and our cutting-edge design round out the features tailored for the perfect hybrid working experience.

Poly Edge E series phones are easy to deploy and support. Phone users now have a self-diagnostic test they can run themselves before calling support. A QR code can be configured pointing to feature tutorials making these phones easy to learn. And a convenient support contact screens is also configurable by the service provider or the IT help desk, so users don’t have to hunt for support contact information.

Poly Edge B Phones are now Certified on Five More Platforms https://blogs.poly.com/poly-edge-b-phones-are-now-certified-on-five-more-platforms/ Thu, 25 Aug 2022 15:00:04 +0000 https://blogs.poly.com/?p=24924

When the Poly Edge B Series launched last year, it hit the sweet spot for service providers offering stylish design, plug and play provisioning and a packed set of features at a shockingly low price point. It’s no surprise that Poly’s partners have moved quickly to make these IP Desk Phones part of their lineups.

Today we’re excited to announce that Poly Edge B phones are now certified by five more leading cloud communications platforms: 8×8, Cisco BroadWorks, GoTo, Metaswitch and NetSapiens. These five platforms join the certification line up alongside Zoom Phone and Google Voice, proving this pure-value, low-cost phone is the ideal device for growing businesses.

The Edge B phone family has two and four-line key options and is targeted as an entry-level phone for small businesses and emerging markets; however, it also has many enterprise-based use cases. The Poly Edge B Series IP Phones’ design and functionality deliver the best-in-class features you’ve come to expect from Poly products, including Poly Acoustic Fence technology, Poly HD Voice and hardcore reliability so you can enjoy clear, uninterrupted conversations. Desk and wall mount options are included right out of the box so every customer can deploy the device with ease.

What it Means for Customers

Certification for Cisco BroadWorks, Metaswitch and NetSapiens in particular make it easier for UCaaS and VoIP service providers to streamline their testing and support of Poly Edge B phones. This is important because it also helps providers get the phones to market faster. Speaking of speed and efficiency, 8×8 customers can easily add Edge B phones to their service today by ordering directly through 8×8, while GoTo customers can add the Edge B to their GoTo Connect service.

To read the full list of platform certifications for Edge B and to find more information, visit our Interoperability & Compatibility page.

Headsets To Complement Your Workstyle

The Poly Edge B Series can support a wide range of headset options using RJ9, EHS or 3.5mm jack connections. For those who prefer the reliability of a wired connection, add a Poly Blackwire 3320 and 5200 Series (using 3.5mm plug) or Poly EncorePro 500 and 700 Series headsets (using RJ-9) to your repertoire. For users who need mobility, the Poly Savi 7200 and 8200 Series headsets are a great choice as they can be used at greater distance by adding a APD-80 EHS cable. Lastly, a Poly Voyager Office Base with either a Voyager 4300 UC Series or a Voyager Focus 2 headset gives the ultimate flexibility to connect your computer and headset to a Poly Edge phone. Poly Partner LogMeIn is now GoTo https://blogs.poly.com/poly-partner-logmein-is-now-goto/ Tue, 19 Jul 2022 15:00:53 +0000 https://blogs.poly.com/?p=24691

Earlier this year, Poly’s partner LogMeIn rebranded as GoTo. The rebranding represents more than just a name change and new logo, it focuses on a new positioning of GoTo’s suite of products. Poly recently connected with GoTo’s Annick Mottard, Senior Product Owner, and Thomas Crist, Senior Product Owner UA/Hardware, for a brief Q&A session to learn more.

Congratulations on your recent company rebranding from LogMeIn to GoTo! What led your company to make this change?

We rebranded as GoTo to reflect our deep dedication to making IT easy, anywhere. Especially for small and midsize businesses (SMBs). The change goes beyond just our name and logo. We also launched a simplified product portfolio with a single application and two flagship products: GoTo Resolve, a brand-new IT management and support product, and GoTo Connect, a new experience for unified-communications-as-a-service (UCaaS). These products are now united by a single application administrative system and converging user experience.

This evolution comes from listening to our nearly 800,000 customers, over one billion people joining meetings, classes or webinars and half a billion connections on the company’s remote access and support tools. GoTo and the new portfolio better represent the company and our commitment to SMBs. We understand their challenges and have the focus and resources needed to address these pain points to better serve their dynamic working environments.

As part of the rebranding, you also focused your products around two lines of business: GoTo Resolve and GoTo Connect. Tell us a bit about each of these product lines and what’s changing with the product portfolio.

With GoTo Resolve, we’re providing IT admins with a powerful tool to support their businesses and employees in this new hybrid workforce world. The IT admin is at the heart of this solution, we’re solving for their everyday tasks and challenges.

With GoTo Connect, we have integrated voice, meetings, contact center and messaging together in one app. Now, you can see your contacts, place and receive phone calls and attend your meetings all in the same space.

This rebrand has unified everything in the GoTo app and admin system. We are the only company with both communications and remote support tools built for SMBs.

Poly and GoTo work closely on joint solutions for the GoTo Connect service line. How do the Poly endpoints integrate with and add value to the GoTo Connect services?

With the workforce moving toward a permanently hybrid environment, the need for physical communication devices is still strong. Businesses and their employees still need phones, headsets, webcams or videoconferencing devices for meeting rooms. Not everything can be done efficiently with a laptop and a cellphone. Thus, leveraging GoTo with Poly hardware provides our customers with a complete solution for their communication needs.

Our GoTo Connect solution fully integrates with the Poly VVX series and CCX series desk phones and Poly Trio 8300 and 8800 conference phones. Poly headsets can also be used with either a compatible desk phone or the GoTo Connect app.

With conference rooms being used again for hybrid meetings, GoTo Room is a great solution for collaboration between in-person and remote participants. GoTo Room runs natively on the Poly Studio X all-in-one video bars without needing a separate PC, making them easy to deploy and control in rooms of all sizes.

How is GoTo helping customers adapt to new ways of working, communicating and collaborating?

GoTo is about empowering businesses to get work done anywhere, at any time. We give customers the tools to empower employees so they can get work done on their own terms: from taking business calls on the go, to hosting virtual gatherings or webinars, to troubleshooting laptops. We ensure that businesses continue moving without disruption—your devices stay up and running while your employees collaborate seamlessly in the office, at home or on the go. We believe flexibility is all about employee empowerment and that means working when, where and how it’s best for them. We enable that with our unified portfolio.

Final question: why partner with Poly?

Poly has a long-standing relationship with GoTo and has proven to be an excellent strategic partner for over fifteen years. GoTo and Poly have worked collaboratively to build an extensive product line reflecting the needs of GoTo customers and partners. This complete line of products, including headsets, cameras, phones and videoconferencing devices for rooms, provides a unified experience for our users. Poly’s approach to the GoTo partnership has been one of hard work, creativity and understanding as the GoTo brand has evolved into the powerful suite of tools offered today.

BlueJeans Rooms-as-a-Service Combines Legendary Service with Poly Hardware https://blogs.poly.com/bluejeans-rooms-as-a-service-combines-legendary-service-with-poly-hardware/ Tue, 28 Jun 2022 15:00:40 +0000 https://blogs.poly.com/?p=24553

Earlier this year, BlueJeans by Verizon announced its new BlueJeans Rooms-as-a-Service (RaaS) offering in partnership with Poly, transforming conference rooms into hybrid meeting spaces by bundling BlueJeans Rooms software, Poly video hardware, maintenance, and support into a monthly service with predictable costs. We’ll talk about the benefits of deploying rooms in an “As-A-Service” model shortly, but first let’s delve into what’s included in the BlueJeans offer.

BlueJeans Software

BlueJeans’ video conferencing meeting software is at the core of the bundled offer, allowing both in-room and remote participants to join and have a consistent meeting experience from any device. BlueJeans has long been recognized as a leader in video conferencing for the digital workplace, and its Rooms service offering is specifically designed to address the needs of the conference room. Features like one-touch join and seamless calendar integration to Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace simplify the user experience. Centralized room management and real-time room analytics are provided through BlueJeans’ Command Center.

Poly Video Hardware

Poly’s Studio X30 and Studio X50 run the BlueJeans Rooms software without the need for a separate PC. These all-in-one devices combine cameras, speakers, and microphones into a beautiful design that looks good in any conference room. Paired with the Poly TC8 controller on the table, meeting controls are just a touch away. The meeting experience is elevated with Poly’s advanced speaker tracking and audio enhancements like Noise Block AI and Acoustic Fence. Management of the video hardware is simplified with secure, over-the-air, automatic software updates.

Support and Maintenance

With the BlueJeans RaaS offer all your support and maintenance needs are handled by one vendor. Whether you have an issue with hardware or software, BlueJeans covers it for the lifetime of the relationship. And if the issue is with the Poly Studio X hardware, warranty services with advance hardware replacement are included as part of the monthly fee.

RaaS Model Benefits

One of the biggest advantages of the RaaS model is that it provides a complete video conference room solution for a predictable monthly expense. There are no large upfront capital expenses (Capex), since the charges for hardware and software are treated as an operating expense (Opex). Because there is no ownership of physical or virtual assets, there is no need to track the asset value, calculate annual depreciation, or dispose of the asset at the end of its lifecycle. With RaaS, you simply return the hardware at the end of the service period or when upgrading to newer hardware.

Another benefit to RaaS is that you always have the latest software and hardware firmware updates available. The monthly subscription model supplies maintenance, support, and warranty replacements over the life of the service. You get the latest features and peace of mind!

How to Leverage RaaS for Hybrid Meeting Deployments

Many businesses are making the move to a hybrid workplace, where workers split time between a remote location (such as a home office) and a company office. While going hybrid brings many benefits, it also has challenges, such as ensuring that all conference rooms are video-enabled to ensure an equitable experience for all participants, regardless of whether they are in-office or remote. Providing a level playing field ensures everyone can be fully engaged and productive during meetings.

However, it’s estimated that only about 10% of meeting rooms globally are equipped to support video meetings. Therefore, businesses must ensure their conference rooms are video ready as part of the move to hybrid work. RaaS can help enable all meeting rooms by providing a complete turnkey solution that’s easy to deploy while eliminating making a large, upfront financial commitment.

Many businesses that already had video deployed in conference rooms have found their legacy solutions either no longer met their needs or are not compatible with new video platforms. RaaS can ease the upgrade of rooms to new services and hardware by providing predictable low-monthly costs as well as the peace of mind in knowing the entire solution is supported and upgradable in the future.

Whether you choose BlueJeans as your video conferencing solution or one of the many other platforms that Poly supports, be sure to ask about Room-as-a-Service options. Video consumption continues to grow, and employees will expect a seamless, equitable experience regardless of work location. RaaS will make it easier to meet these demands by easing the upfront roll-out of video and providing comfort that the solution is supported as it’s used over the long term.

Poly and BlueJeans by Verizon have a shared mission to empower businesses to quickly and seamlessly connect and collaborate whenever and wherever work needs to get done. In the new era of hybrid working, this means connecting team members who are widely distributed across geographies and increasingly spread between the corporate offices and remote working locations.

Back in August, we announced an exciting milestone in our partnership with the certification of Poly’s new line of personal video conferencing devices, the Poly Studio P Series, to ensure those working from home offices can be confident that they will look and sound great on every call with a reliable and seamless BlueJeans meeting experience.

3 Ways Poly Studio X Elevates Your GoToRoom Meetings https://blogs.poly.com/3-ways-poly-studio-x-elevates-gotoroom-meetings/ https://blogs.poly.com/3-ways-poly-studio-x-elevates-gotoroom-meetings/#respond Fri, 31 Jul 2020 17:18:20 +0000 https://blogs.poly.com/?p=4313

Since the launch of our Poly Studio X all-in-one video bars last year, we’ve been partnering with the leading video meeting platform providers to integrate their service with Poly’s Video OS endpoints. We are thrilled to share that LogMeIn recently announced its launch of new hardware bundles for the Poly Studio X30 and X50 all-in-one video bars for its GoToRoom huddle, conference and board room solution.

LogMeIn offers the Poly Studio X devices as part of a bundle with its GoToRoom service.  All GoToRoom bundles are available for purchase directly through LogMeIn, or by utilizing the Room-as-a-Service (RaaS) model which offers businesses the ability to pay a low all-inclusive monthly rate for both the hardware and software, eliminating the need for large upfront costs when outfitting multiple rooms.  GoToRoom is available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the Benelux and Nordic regions, and Australia.

Here’s three ways using Poly Studio X video bars elevates the meeting experience for GoToRoom customers – whether working at home or back in the office:

1. BE SEEN AND HEARD CLEARLY

Poly Studio X endpoints are packed with video and audio innovations aimed at providing a better meeting experience such as automatic camera framing, advanced microphone design, NoiseBlock AI, and Acoustic Fence.  These features help everyone to see and hear the active participants clearly while eliminating distracting noises such as typing or conversations outside of the meeting room.

2. EASY CONTROL AND CONTENT SHARING

Because the GoToRoom application is built-in to the Poly Studio X hardware, end users can easily join GoToRoom meetings and navigate controls using either a touch screen monitor or the Poly TC8 controller.  Additionally, participants can share content from their laptop directly through the Poly Studio X endpoint, either wirelessly or through a HDMI connection.

3. QUICK AND SIMPLE DEPLOYMENT

As an all-in-one device, Poly Studio X is super-easy to get up and running quickly.  The video bar has a camera, microphone, speakers and compute capability built-in – requiring only power, network and video-out connection to a monitor.  The optional TC8 controller only requires a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) connection.  Within a few minutes, your meeting room can be set up and running with the GoToRoom application.

The Poly Studio X devices are a great choice for GoToRoom users, from executive home offices, huddle spaces, and small to mid-size conference rooms.  To learn more about GoToRoom bundles with Poly hardware, visit http://goto.com/room/poly.

Business Communication – What’s Working in 2020? https://blogs.poly.com/business-communication-whats-working-in-2020/ https://blogs.poly.com/business-communication-whats-working-in-2020/#respond Thu, 18 Jun 2020 22:15:54 +0000 https://blogs.poly.com/?p=4253

In early 2020, Nextiva released their 2020 State of Business Communications Report, developed in partnership with Poly and AA-ISP. The report surveyed more than one thousand professionals from a variety of industries and sought to understand how new technology, ways of working, and customer preferences have influenced communication in the modern workplace. Amongst some of the findings was a focus on communication tools, the necessity of accommodating diverse workstyles, and the utility of dedicated communication devices.

Robust, Reliable Business Communication Tools are Vital

Without a doubt, emerging mediums are changing the ways in which we communicate internally – and, these channels greatly influence the quality of an organization’s productivity and interpersonal exchanges. Despite a myriad of ways to get in touch, survey respondents still prefer traditional communication methods such as face-to-face, phone, and email over newer communication methods such as project management tools or chat. The preference of interacting in-person or via calling is unsurprising due to the fact that voice is our default medium for communicating nuanced and complex concepts. However, video conferencing is rather notably growing in popularity as ‘the next best thing’ to face-to-face as remote work becomes the ‘norm’.

Therefore, adequately equipping your team with robust voice and video tools to support their preferred communication mediums is essential to their performance – internally and externally. A significant 33% of respondents reported that business communications issues had caused them to lose a customer and 30% reported it has caused them to miss an important deadline.

These numbers highlight the need for quality business platforms and endpoints that eliminate barriers to communication. And, with meeting face-to-face off the table for the time being, video is the next best thing. Poly combines legendary audio expertise and powerful video and conferencing capabilities to overcome the complexities and distance that make communication in and out of the workplace challenging.

Tools for Every Workstyle, Environment and Use Case

Building on the results discussed above, businesses need communication tools that can address a range of workstyles, environments and situations. As a matter of fact, the report shows that 59% of people use three communication devices at work. This raises the question, why more than one device? This is because each fulfills a particular need or situation. Mobile is great while roaming, but a desk phone is better suited for external communications from a fixed location. While, a soft client may work best for internal calls or video meetings.

Poly’s portfolio has been designed to accommodate a range of workstyles, whether at home, on the road, or in the office, or a mix of all three.

The Value of Desk Phones in WFH Environments

Although there is a considerable need for video cameras and headsets, some situations are best suited for a dedicated communication device. Desk phones are a valued tool for business users both in the office and while working from home. In the report, 59% of users reported that they use a desk phone daily and 70% use one at least once a week in combination with mobile phones and UC apps. In fact, many service providers report that routine desk phone users have taken their device home to enable them to work more efficiently during the pandemic. Furthermore, aside from accommodating workstyles, there are device management advantages to desk phones as well. One service provider reported using the Poly cloud device management service to quickly troubleshoot and resolve a customer’s phone connection issue in a matter of minutes – something that would not be possible using a softphone or mobile device.

Final Thoughts – What’s Actually Working?

We are entering a phase in which companies are continuously experimenting with new ways of working and assessing what’s working and what’s not. Part of that consideration needs to be whether the communications tools provided to employees are adequate to keep them productive, engaged, and effective. From the perspective of the organization, this will mean being in open communication with individuals about which mediums are working for them and which are not.

Furthermore, with the majority of office workers working from home due to COVID-19, some needs or preferences might change due to their new working environment, while others might stay the same. With proper planning and equipment, communication doesn’t need to falter when employees dispersed. In fact, the opposite can be true. By utilizing methods like video, calling, email and chat, internal and external communication can be just as robust regardless of the location of your team.
